Denise Molina Joins Juno Investment Partners

Further expansion of fundamental analytical capacity

December 18 – Juno Investment Partners has brought Denise Molina (42) on board as a financial analyst. Molina came over from London, where she was working until recently with New Street Research as a Consultant Analyst.  Before that she worked at Goldman Sachs and SBC Warburg.
With her extensive international experience as a research analyst she is a welcome addition to the existing Juno team of portfolio managers/analysts, which concentrate on investing in publicly traded European small- and mid-cap (family) businesses.

The Juno Selection Fund was founded in 2007 by Frans Jurgens and Lennart Smits.  The fund and the direct mandates that Juno manages have grown strongly in the last few years.  This is thanks to inflows from new money and the outstanding investment performance (+104% over the last five years).  Total assets under management at this moment are around €110 million.

Denise focuses, together with her analyst and portfolio manager colleagues, on identifying and following interesting European family companies for investment. “At Juno we would like to know a lot about a small group of companies.  That demands experience and dedication, but also takes a lot of time. To be sure that we can efficiently follow our companies and generate new ideas, we are happy that can expand the team with an experienced analyst such as Denise” said director and co-founder Lennart Smits.

Denise Molina has nineteen years of experience as a financial analyst. The last 10 years she worked in London, first at Goldman Sachs where she was an Executive Director and Equity Analyst. From 2006 she became involved in the start-up Emerging Economies Research, a joint venture with the Royal Bank of Scotland.  As an analyst she had frequent content with managements from publicly traded companies both in Europe and a few emerging markets. In 2011 she began by New Street Research, where she performed analysis and valuation. Denise’s expertise lies above all in fundamental equity analysis with a focus on European companies that are active in software and technology aimed at consumers. Denise Molina is also, together with her brother, an owner of an American family business that is involved with a chain of Sandwich Shops in Illinois.

Denise Molina is an American and has a BA from Williams College, Western Massachusetts in the US and is since 2014 a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charterholder. Denise speaks fluent Dutch and in her spare time enjoys sports: she has run in two marathons.  Furthermore, she enjoys being active in charity work.

About Juno Selection Fund and Juno Investment Partners
Juno invests in unique European Small and Mid-Cap companies. Mostly these are family-owned companies, or companies where a family or management is also a shareholder. Companies that can continue to achieve a predictable and stable profit growth, year after year, are considered for investment. During this selection process, the emphasis lies on the return on invested capital and free cash flows that are highly predictable in nature. Our analysts / asset managers put together a highly concentrated portfolio of companies that they themselves have identified, analyzed and visit frequently. These companies often remain in the portfolio for a long period of time (over three years). With this investment style, Juno has achieved consistent superior investment results for its clients during the past years. Morningstar has also given Juno a five star rating with a low risk ranking.
